Key Priority Areas include:

  • Governance and the Rules of Racing: Strengthening integrity, compliance, and animal welfare standards through improved monitoring, enhanced stewarding, and increased capacity at the Racing Science Centre.
  • Workforce Capability and Capacity: Modernising HR systems, enhancing training opportunities, and providing clear career pathways to ensure a skilled and engaged workforce.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Regular engagement with industry stakeholders, clear communication, and enhanced education to foster trust and confidence.
  • Technology and Systems: Investing in digital infrastructure and data capabilities to drive efficiency and innovation.
  • Operational Effectiveness: Establishing robust policies and procedures, reducing greyhounds returned to the GAP program, and developing a sustainable funding model.

QRIC’s Strategic Plan is designed to underpin the sustainability of the racing industry by safeguarding animal welfare, fairness, and the integrity of Queensland’s racing industry. The Commission encourages ongoing feedback and engagement from all industry participants and looks forward to working together to set new standards for racing in Queensland.
