QRIC Vets clear Magic Millions runners with one exception
Queensland Racing Integrity Commission Stewards and Veterinarians have today completed examinations of entries in the Jeep Magic Millions Two year old Classic and Three year old Guineas.
Stewards and veterinarians identified four horses yesterday requiring further examination and today have determined Tiara Star will not be permitted to race should it gain entry as the first emergency, but the remaining horses have been cleared to race.
Tiara Star – Was found to be sore on flexion in the near fore fetlock upon examination on Tuesday, Thursday and again this morning. As a consequence, Tiara Star will not be permitted to race should it gain an entry as the first emergency.
Winning Rupert – After being found slightly short striding in the near foreleg upon examination yesterday, was today cleared to start.
Miss Wonderland – After being found slightly lame in the off foreleg upon examination yesterday, was today cleared to start. Stewards have permitted Miss Wonderland to race with three quarter plates on both front hooves.
Pipeline – After being found to be slightly short striding in the off fore leg upon examination yesterday, was today cleared to start.

Queensland Racing Integrity Commission Stewards advise that all horses entered to compete at the Gold Coast tomorrow, 14 January will only be required on course one hour before the advertised start time of each race due to the expected heat conditions.
Entry into the Gold Coast Turf Club mounting enclosure tomorrow, 14 January 2017 will be restricted to:
- Media as approved by Racing Queensland
- Licensed personnel who have official duties on the day
- Owners of each horse as advertised in the Race Book
- All trainers are requested to ensure that all staff members have their ID Badges available for inspection.
