Online licensing now a reality for racing industry

Queensland Racing Integrity Commission (QRIC) racing industry licence applications and renewals are now available online for all racing industry participants.

Queensland Racing Integrity Commissioner Ross Barnett said from this week, Harness racing participants and bookmakers have the ability to apply and renew their licences online for the first time.

“Online applications have been progressing well and the take-up from Greyhound participants who have had the ability to apply and renew their licences online since June last year has been impressive,” he said.

“The Commission licenses all Thoroughbred, Harness and Greyhound racing participants and we have made the process of applying and renewing a licence quicker and easier through the online portal on the QRIC website.

“Online licence renewals and applications require all industry participants to register their email addresses with the Commission.

“For some racing industry participants this has been the first time they have done business online, but the Commission’s licensing and registration staff are available to assist.”

While participants can now do business with the Commission online, there are still some tasks to come, including registering a syndicate and greyhound industry dog management, such as transfers and retirements which will be available soon.
