Bollente scratched from Birdsville Cup by trainer

Nick Walsh trained Bollente has been scratched from Saturday’s Birdsville Cup race, following acceptances.
On Tuesday, Queensland Racing Integrity Commission (QRIC) stewards from Brisbane and Rockhampton inquired into the scratching and allowed Bollente to be scratched from the race.
QRIC has stepped up its regulatory presence across the Simpson Desert Racing Carnival this year, with both race day and Compliance Assurance Team stewards attending the event to conduct testing in line with the Commission’s substance control strategy, and to investigate any potential breaches of the rules of racing as needed.
