Three riders stood down after Deagon testing operation

The Queensland Racing Integrity Commission (QRIC) Integrity Investigations Team (IIT) conducted a human sampling operation at Deagon trackwork this morning where 15 racing industry participants including trainers, jockeys, apprentice jockeys and trackwork riders provided urine samples and six participants were also breath tested.

One trackwork rider and one exercise rider were stood down pending the return of confirmatory results after making admissions to the use of illegal substances.

A visiting trackwork rider from New Zealand was also stood down after recording a blood alcohol concentration above the prescribed threshold.

Seven of the samples taken this morning will be sent for analysis.
