Vale Pat Duff
25 November 2024
The Queensland Racing Integrity Commission (‘QRIC’) would like to extend their condolences to the family, friends and stable staff of Hall of Fame trainer, Pat Duff who passed away across the weekend.
QRIC Commissioner Catherine Clark said Pat was universally admired as a gentleman of racing who had success for many years primarily from his Deagon stables.
“In his decorated career spanning more than 60 years, Pat trained from the Gold Coast, Toowoomba and Brisbane and was well loved around both Deagon and Queensland racetracks. His exemplary integrity record speaks to what a true gentleman and unrivalled trainer Pat was. Pat was also ahead of his time as one of the first trainers in Queensland to offer young women the opportunity to train and ride for his stable, she said.
“Through his on-track record as well as his relationships with people right across the racing community, Pat’s legacy will be felt for generations to come.”
“Our sincere condolences go out to his children Peter, Micheal and Suzanne and his twin brother Cedric.”
ENDS.
