Toowoomba scratching subject to Inquiry
28 September 2021
Queensland Racing Integrity Commission stewards declared Bump’n’Run a late scratching before it was set to race in the Toowoomba Guineas on Saturday, 25 September.
The Commission’s Integrity Investigation Team reported an incidence of alleged race day treatment on the morning of the Toowoomba Weetwood Carnival.
Samples taken on the day have been sent for analysis and the stewards have adjourned their inquiry to a date to be fixed.
Acting Racing Integrity Commissioner Paul Brown said the Commission was out in force on Saturday, as in addition to swabbing all winners and second place horses, 27 runners were subjected to pre-race swabs.
“The Commission is continuing to monitor race meetings across the State throughout the Spring Carnival and participants and their animals can expect to be tested,” he said.
