Stewards’ reports
The Commission employs a number of Stewards and Authorised Officers who oversee race day activities across all codes of racing.
Stewards and Authorised Officers are empowered by the Rules of Racing and the Racing Integrity Act 2016 to control and regulate the codes of racing. Stewards ensure that participants adhere to the Rules of Racing, investigate breaches and where necessary apply penalties.
Stewards are responsible for maintaining public confidence in the racing of animals for which betting is lawful. They’re responsible for ensuring the conduct and integrity of all persons involved with racing. They’re also responsible for safeguarding the welfare of all racing animals and participants and drug testing as well as regulating race meetings throughout Queensland.
